Credito por mas empleados
Okay, so I have been speaking to a few small business owner friends of mine. Primarily, I have been asking about the proposed tax credits to small businesses expected to be provided under the new(est) stimulus plan. There are several “incentives” but the biggest sell is around hiring. The bill is intended to gives small businesses a $5000 tax break for hiring people who have beeb out of work for more than 2 months. Of course, there are more stipulations, but that is the sales pitch.
Unfortunately, everyone I have spoken with says that it is too little too late. Banks aren’t lending money and a $5000 tax credit would not be paid until the end of the year and really is only enough to cover their coffee money for a year. So, the “drop in the bucket” would likely have little effect on hiring.
It’s no secret that I have tied the economic misadventures of the current Presidential Administration to the whipping post. But, they have just not taken our economy seriously. We are capitalist, but we infuse socialist values. America, as a country, has no business in business. We should not bail out any company, particularly ones who made bad business decisions by lending money to high-risk clients. If the Obama Admin had acted immediately upon taking office, we might have avoided our current position. Lightening the taxes on companies could have eased layoffs. I personally and honestly believe that if the US had let these companies close, several smaller ones would have sprung from the shadows and we would have a higher employment rate. But, now the US has spent Billions to bailout companies and who is going to pay for it…well, we all will. And, that includes the people who lost their jobs. So, the double-dip is that you may have lost your job and you will still have to pay taxes which were used to bailout companies.
So, in the end, we will likely create very few jobs through the new stimulus. Even Obama is stating that he expects it to create 250K jobs, which only .68% of the unemployed. So, even if it works, it doesn’t work.
